Cyber Essentials is the UK Government-backed baseline standard for protecting organisations against common cyber attacks. It focuses on practical, everyday security controls — the kind that prevent the majority of real-world incidents rather than advanced or niche threats. This isn’t a high-level certification; it’s basic security hygiene, and we strongly recommend it as a minimum starting point.

There are two levels: Cyber Essentials, a self-assessed certification, and Cyber Essentials Plus, which includes independent technical verification.

The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) recommends Cyber Essentials as a foundational measure for organisations of all sizes, and many insurers, partners, and supply chains now expect it as standard.
