School Lockdown Alert, PA & Bell Systems
- Dedicated lockdown alerts
- Scheduled class change bells
- Live and pre-recorded announcements
- Visual, audio and text-based alerts
- Installed over your existing IT network
With Martyn’s Law on the horizon, schools should be reviewing how they alert staff, pupils and visitors during an emergency. Lynx can help you assess your site, specify the right Bodet solution and install a system that supports everyday communication as well as emergency procedures.
Prepare your school for Martyn’s Law
Martyn’s Law requires in-scope premises to consider how they would respond to an emergency and take appropriate steps to reduce vulnerability. For education settings, the government’s guidance specifically lists public protection procedures including evacuation, invacuation, lockdown and communication.
Bodet’s lockdown alert system is designed to broadcast a dedicated lockdown alert, separate from fire alarms, class change bells and other routine messages. Bodet states alerts can be triggered by push buttons, app or remote control, and broadcast as audio or audio/visual alerts.
What a Bodet system can do
Lockdown alerts
Dedicated alerts that are distinct from fire alarms, bells and routine announcements.
Class change bells
Scheduled bells, melodies or messages for lesson changes, breaks and end of day.
Live announcements
Broadcast to the whole school or selected areas from a mic, app or control point.
Zoned communication
Send alerts or announcements to specific buildings, departments or areas.
Visual alerts
Use strobes and LED text displays to support pupils, staff or visitors with hearing needs, or loud areas.
Synchronized clocks
Keep clocks, bells and schedules aligned across the school site.
Uses Your existing network
Bodet Harmonys is not a traditional standalone bell or PA system. It is an IP-based solution that can run across your school’s existing IT network, using Power over Ethernet to connect speakers, alert devices, clocks and controls around your site.
That makes it a natural fit for schools that want to improve communication without installing a completely separate audio infrastructure. Lynx Networks can review your existing network, cabling and PoE capacity, then design and install a Bodet system that works reliably across classrooms, corridors, halls, offices, playgrounds and external areas.
Z Less disruption during installation
Where suitable network infrastructure is already in place, Bodet can reduce the need for separate bell and PA cabling.
Z Ready for everyday and emergency use
Use the same system for class change bells, live announcements, scheduled messages, lockdown alerts and visual notifications.
Z Clear zoning across your site
Broadcast messages to the whole school or target specific areas, buildings or departments.
Z Installed by network specialists
Because the system relies on your IT network, Lynx can support the full installation. From network points and PoE switching through to system configuration, testing and handover.
